The benefits of True Motion® 6 DOF Simulation
True Motion® immersion can only be achieved at the highest fidelity using significant levels of movement in every direction on all six axes (6 Degrees of Freedom). 6DoF describes a simulator’s independent movement capabilities: longitudinal (forward/backwards), lateral (left/right), vertical (up/down), pitch (tilt – nose down/up), roll (left/right), and yaw (rotate – left/right).
6DoF is the simulation industry gold standard, but to achieve this, traditional simulator platforms require large infrastructure, high power demands and fixed installations. Consequently, authentic motion simulation has been the preserve of elite industries such as Aviation and Formula 1 motorsport, who rely on it as an integral part of their training regimes.
